Hello Everyone

We hope you have all had a wonderful Christmas and New Year and that 2010 proves to be happy and successful for you all.

Once again we find ourselves at a crossroads in our Club's history. Cathy and I have had a great time running the monthly Acoustic Club during 2009 and would like to take this opportunity to thank all those that contributed, either as valued members of the audience or as performers, making the Club evenings so enjoyable.

After the disappointment of the double booking of the party John and I, together with John Yates our treasurer, had a chat about the future of the Club.

We have felt for some time now that although Tracy and all those at The Blue Bowl have always been very kind and respectful towards us, the Club hasn't been enough of a money spinner to warrant the loss of diners in the summer months. We had all hoped that our occupation of the restaurant in the winter months would offset this.

At the risk of being given notice in the warmer months we have decided to "pull out" now than face more upset later in the year.  We wish to start the New Year on a good note and although it is the end of Spotlight Acoustic we hope to have news of further musical endeavours in 2010.

On another note it seems an ironic time to say that the Kings Arms, Litton (our previous venue) has decided to try out music in their bar and John, Phil and I have been asked to play on Friday 15th January from 8.30pm.  It's not a concert just live pub music in a bid to bring in the punters and it would be good to see any of you who are free on that night.   The major changes to the function room however mean that the Club could never restart there.

Once again thanks to all of our musical friends for your support to date.

With best wishes

Cathy & John
